Summit: Embodying Resilience
Seven world-leading experts on embodiment, resilience, and transformation
Comprehensive Curriculum
Welcome & Meditation
Dr. Scott Lyons · 30-minute experiential session
An opening meditation and welcome to set the tone for a day exploring embodied resilience.
Session 1 — Resilience and Rebirthing Breathwork
Karina Kalilah · 75-minute experiential session
An introduction to Conscious Connected Breathing and its capacity to support resilience. In a safe container, dive deep within yourself to clear what is stuck on physical, emotional, and energetic levels. Through breath into the heart and the activation of all energy centres, release tension, stress, and even trauma in a gentle, transformational way.
Session 2 — The HeArt of Resilience
Dr. Amber L. Elizabeth Gray · 75-minute experiential session
Resilience is not something we simply build — it's an emergent process that derives from and supports relationship, connection, and engagement. Drawing on her experience in conflict, post-conflict, and disaster zones, Dr. Amber reframes resilience as relational, creative, and embodied — centering socio-cultural and socio-spiritual approaches to individual and communal healing.
Session 3 — Community of Practice: Embodied Movement Therapy for the Communities We Live In
Dr. Andrea Juhan · 75-minute experiential session
Andrea introduces Therapy in Motion (TIM), a branch of Open Floor Movement Practice that puts movement at the center of therapy. Moving together in a well-held group establishes embodiment as a common language, building psychological sophistication and relational intelligence. Includes a mini-class experience of Core Movement Resources for emotional intelligence and enduring resilience.
Session 4 — Embodied Resilience for Transformation
Devika Shankar · 75-minute experiential session
Explore how resilience gets misused, individualized, and weaponized — particularly against marginalized communities — and how the commodification of "self-care" undercuts genuine collective healing. Practice a framework for embodied awareness of personal stress and relaxation cycles, plus real-time strategies for cultivating sustainable resilience for the long-haul work of transformation.
Session 5 — How to Deepen Your Capacity for Digesting Life
Chara Caruthers · 75-minute experiential session
Our individual and collective resilience is a direct reflection of how effortlessly we integrate our environments and experiences. How are you digesting life? Explore what this means, why it matters, and how to expand your capacity to meet life's challenges with ease and grace.
