WEEKEND 1 THE TRAUMATIZED BRAIN — NETWORKS, FRAGMENTATION, AND MEMORY How does trauma actually reorganize the brain? This weekend maps it precisely — across the neural networks, the sensory self, the memory and affect systems, and the dissociative spectrum. You'll understand why the survival brain bypasses the reflective cortex, how sensory disintegration unfolds at the level of the thalamus and the hippocampus, how Panksepp's primal emotional circuits shape what reaches conscious awareness, and how dissociation — rather than being a mystery — is a predictable, neuroscientifically coherent response to overwhelm. You'll leave with a rigorous, clinically usable understanding of what fragmentation looks like at the level of brain and body.

WEEKEND 2 REBUILDING THE SENSORY SYSTEM Trauma is a sensory fragmentation — and healing means restoring what was disrupted. This weekend moves through the eight sensory pathways one by one: the vestibular system's role in orienting the body to safety and its connections to arousal and visceral emotion; the proprioceptive maps that shift from purposeful movement to avolitional defense under threat; touch as the neurobiological substrate of attachment and social engagement; interoception and the insula as the gateway to the felt sense of being alive; the auditory and prosodic pathways that carry emotional meaning in voice; vision's dual capacity for hypervigilance and dissociative shutdown; and the gut–brain axis, with its direct links to limbic memory, inflammation, and chronic pain. You'll leave with a sensory map of your clients, and the tools to begin rebuilding from the ground up.

WEEKEND 3 INTEGRATIVE SOMATICS AND APPLIED NEUROSCIENCE This is where neuroscience becomes somatic practice. The final weekend synthesizes everything — sensation, memory, autonomic patterns, and meaning — into the SAN and SANS clinical protocols. You'll learn to move fluidly between bottom-up sensory intervention and top-down narrative processing: when to enter through the body and when to enter through story; how to use breath and movement to shift autonomic organization; how to support somatic–affective connection and meaning-making without overwhelm; and how to apply the Sensory Profile as a real-time clinical assessment tool. The SANS Protocol addresses pattern recognition, narrative processing, and memory reconsolidation — the neuroscientific mechanism through which new learning can update traumatic memory at the cellular level. You'll leave with a clinical framework you can apply the very next week with clients.
