Embodied Yoga Explorations with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen

Embodied yoga from the inside out — cells, systems, and developmental patterns

Embodied Yoga Explorations with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.
When yoga is practiced with full awareness from the body, it transforms from a doing process into a being process. Join Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen — founder of Body-Mind Centering® and a movement artist, researcher, and educator with over fifty years of yoga experience — for a four-part Master Workshop. Through guided exploration of cells, body systems, and developmental patterns, discover how yoga becomes an enlivening experience where flexibility, strength, and balance emerge naturally from cellular consciousness.

Comprehensive Curriculum

Module 1 — Awakening the Cells of the Lungs and Respiratory Tract
Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen · 90-minute experiential session

Awaken the cells of the lungs and respiratory tract through breathing and movement. This practice brings deeper awareness and ease to breath, while increasing flexibility, strength, and fluidity in the head, spine, and arms. Asanas become filled with spaciousness and levity.

Module 2 — Cellular Consciousness of the Heart and Vascular System
Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen · 90-minute experiential session

Open to the cellular consciousness of the heart and its vascular extremities spiraling through the body. Through cardiovascular circulation, all cells communicate with each other — and movement flows in a continuous stream. Asanas become filled with vitality and calm.

Module 3 — Clarity in the Lower Spine and Pelvis
Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen · 90-minute experiential session

Bring clarity of consciousness and ease to the lower spine and pelvis. Explore the mobility of each pelvic bone, the pubic disk as the keystone between the two legs, and the sacrum as the keystone between the spine and legs. Asanas become clearly articulated through the pelvis and hip joints; the spine grows soft and quiet, opening into the spaciousness of the central channel.

Module 4 — Mobile Feet and Forelegs
Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen · 90-minute experiential session

Bring awareness to the feet and forelegs. Through mobile feet, continually adjust to subtle shifts of weight passing through the body. Forelegs transfer spirallic lines of energy between the pelvic bones and the earth — and asanas become rooted into and rise out of the earth.
