Dr. Arielle Schwartz is a clinical psychologist and leading voice in trauma healing. An internationally sought-out teacher, she is the author of seven books, including The Complex PTSD Workbook, The Post-Traumatic Growth Guidebook, EMDR Therapy and Somatic Psychology, and Applied Polyvagal Theory in Yoga. As founder of the Center for Resilience Informed Therapy, she offers a mind-body approach to trauma therapy and shares mental health and wellness insights through her writing, speaking, social media, and blog. She believes the journey of trauma recovery is an awakening of the spiritual heart.

Stephen Porges (Dr.)

Stephen W. Porges, Ph.D. is Distinguished University Scientist at Indiana University where he is the founding director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium in the Kinsey Institute. He is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina, and Professor Emeritus at both the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Maryland. He served as president of the Society for Psychophysiological Research and the Federation of Associations in Behavioral & Brain Sciences and is a former recipient of a National Institute of Mental Health Research Scientist Development Award. He is the originator of the Polyvagal Theory, a theory that emphasizes the importance of physiological state in the expression of behavioral, mental, and health problems related to traumatic experiences.

Deb Dana

Deb Dana, LCSW, is an author, clinician, and consultant using Polyvagal Theory to understand and resolve trauma while honoring the autonomic nervous system. She developed the Rhythm of Regulation Clinical Training Series and lectures internationally. Deb is a founding member of the Polyvagal Institute, clinical advisor to Khiron Clinics, and advisor to Unyte. Her clinical works with W.W. Norton include The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy, Polyvagal Exercises for Safety and Connection, and the Polyvagal Flip Chart. With Sounds True, she released Befriending Your Nervous System and the book Anchored.

Module 02 Level 2 workshop
In this Level 2 workshop we will: - Understand how Trauma can Dysregulate the Nervous System and impact your Health - Discuss the connective tissue and fascial system as trauma recovery - Apply core principles of Body-Centered Psychotherapies into therapeutic yoga - Learn how to up-regulate and down-regulate the nervous system - Explore key principles of neuroplasticity - Discover Brain and Body Integration practices using Bilateral Movement and Reflex Integration - Learn compassion-based practices to work through barriers to wellness - Navigating co-regulation strategies when social doesn’t feel safe
Module 03 Level 3 workshop
In this Level 3 workshop we will: - Discuss how dissociation can show up in the yoga practice - Discover Pendulation strategies to navigate nervous system states - Work with your “internal family system” through body dialogues on the yoga mat - Explore the benefits of restorative practices for your health - Practice a trauma informed approach to meditation & Yoga Nidra - Understand the Koshas as a path to coming home to Self - Describe the factors of resilience - Personalize the applied polyvagal theory within a therapeutic yoga practice for yourself, a student, or a client - Learn the model for offering a six-week therapeutic yoga class to a group
