ABOUT THE SUMMIT
“Truly understanding and embodying your biological processes of stress is the keystone to your freedom, resilience & well-being. It allows you to come home to your body and use that power to adapt and thrive.”
— DR. SCOTT LYONS
Gather with us live and online May 3rd, 2025 for our FREE One-Day Summit to explore the power of somatics for stress release and anxiety management with Dr. Scott Lyons and other internationally recognized leaders in somatic-based approaches to releasing stress and calming anxiety.
Stress and anxiety related health challenges are now a widespread global issue. Research links stress to physiological conditions like cardiovascular distress, immunosuppression, and gastro-intestinal problems. Stress adversely impacts attention, concentration, critical thinking, and other cognitive functions. Family and social relationships suffer.
While we might perceive stress or anxiety as happening around us, it is actually happening within us. A physiological stress response happens throughout every system of the body, ultimately interacting with every cell. Our stress responses are interwoven with our emotions, immune function, thoughts, breath, and movements.
In this FREE One-Day online event you’ll gain practical tools and insights into understanding the body’s response to anxiety and stress, and how to enhance body awareness and increase your capacity to find peace and calm.
You’ll discover how to restore and optimize your fundamental ability to adapt to and navigate life with ease and agency. You will learn how to enhance your capacity to identify internal responses to stressors, and mobilize that energy towards restoration and ease.
Register now and discover the power of an embodied approach to stress release and anxiety management to create more calm and ease for yourself and others.

Anxiety as a Gateway to Self-Love
A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
The experience of anxiety, while it may be unpleasant or even painful, presents an opportunity for you to connect with yourself. Rather than treating your anxiety as an enemy to be combatted, I encourage you to treat your anxiety as a friend—a friend who has an important message for you. When we lean toward our anxiety instead of running from it, we can connect with the tender emotions at our core that need our love and care. Join me as I guide you in approaching your anxiety as a gateway to self-love.
Dené Logan

Utilizing Shadow Work to Come Back to Presence
A 75 MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
Within analytic psychology, shadow work is the process of bringing the unconscious aspects of our ego mind’s survival strategies, into our conscious awareness. Many of our repressed desires, emotions, fears, and memories become elements of who we are that we are conditioned early on to reject – either in our familial environment or through societal norms. But until we understand how our shadow shows up and learn to integrate these aspects of our disavowed Self, our shadow will emerge through maladaptive behavior patterns, in our bodies, and through limiting beliefs. This interactive workshop will demonstrate steps for integrating our shadow in a way that brings us back into the present moment and alleviates anxiety.

Transforming Trauma: The Path to Hope and Healing
A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
Trauma--the word is Greek and means “wound” or “injury”--comes to all of us sooner or later. It can, of course, be devastating. However, we have the capacity to reverse its biological and psychological consequences, to become more resilient and, indeed, to achieve “post-traumatic growth.”
In this talk, I’ll discuss the ways that trauma disrupts physiological, psychological, and social balance, and teach one highly effective technique for reversing trauma and promoting resilience that attendees can integrate into their lives. I’ll also describe the evidence-based program of self-care and mutual help we at The Center for Mind-Body Medicine (CMBM) have used for 30 years to successfully address population-wide psychological trauma: during and after wars in the Balkans, the Middle East, Africa, and Ukraine, as well as following mass shootings and climate-related disasters here in the US and the Caribbean, and a youth suicide epidemic on the Pine Ridge Reservation, and are using now to help people deal with the challenges and disruptions of Trump Administration policy.
Learning Objectives:
Define trauma
Review the biological disturbances that trauma creates
Describe the use of mind-body skills to deal successfully with trauma
Define the concept of “post-traumatic growth”

How Trauma Gets Stuck in The Body—And How to Release It: A Neuroscientific Approach
A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
Anxiety starts not in the mind, but in the body—as a physiological state of alarm. In this session, we’ll explore the neuroscience behind how trauma becomes “stuck” in the body, and how to effectively access and release it. Learn why bottom-up approaches (body to mind) are much more effective than top-down (mind to body) for healing chronic worry, and walk away with practical insights into healing that go far beyond "talking it out".
Anna Papaioannou
4:00pm - 5:15pm ET (U.S. Eastern Time)
The 3-Minute Reset: SOS Tools for In-the-Moment Anxiety
A 75 MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode? This experiential session will teach you three fast, body-based practices to calm your nervous system and return to a sense of safety — anytime, anywhere. Using the science of the vagus nerve and somatic therapy, you’ll learn how to interrupt anxiety spirals with simple tools like breath, touch, sound, and orientation. No yoga mat or perfect conditions needed. You’ll leave with your own personalized 3-minute reset ritual — something you can rely on when life feels too much.

Resilient Relationships: Somatic Tools for Empowerment & Healing from Systemic Trauma in Marginalized Couples
A 75 MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
Working with marginalized couples requires understanding how systemic trauma impacts their ability to connect authentically. This session offers somatic tools for empowering practitioners to facilitate healing and build resilient relationships that thrive despite societal oppression. We'll explore techniques that support responsible externalizing, allowing you to guide couples in identifying systemic forces impacting their connection. Through an engagement with somatics, you'll learn practices that facilitate memory reconsolidation, shifting limiting beliefs. Discover how to guide couples in building liberatory connections, creating partnerships that actively challenge systemic forces and foster a sense of safety, agency, and joy.
